The Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds odds indicate that the home side have very little hope of taking home three points on Friday night. Even a draw is priced at 3/1 – an implied probability of 25% while Leeds are the odds-on favourites. Daniel Farke will be expecting a tough match so the odds are a little surprising. Further underdog tips can be found in our betting insights section.

At the start of the year, Sheffield Wednesday looked doomed and an immediate return to League One looked almost certain. However, they found something in 2024 and a run of five wins in six matches since February has brought them to the verge of escaping the drop zone. In fact, a win on Friday would catapult them up to 16th in the league table.

Leeds have also put together an impressive run of form since Christmas but it hasn't been quite enough to see them move into the top two, mainly due to Ipswch's form. They are rightfully the favourites for this one but it is far from an easy fixture for the Whites. Other free betting tips include Sheff Weds or draw double chance at 11/8 (2.38) and over 2.5 goals at 8/11 (1.73).

Last five H2Hs: Who has the bragging right?

As with any Yorkshire derby, gaining the bragging rights is important to both sets of supporters. Over the past five games, though, these two haven't been able to be separated. Leeds have won one, Sheffield Wednesday have won one and the other three have all been draws.

Player to watch: Georginio Rutter

Georginio Rutter

Georginio Rutter is one of several Leeds players who have benefitted massively on a personal level from the club's relegation to the Championship. The French forward has looked like a completely different player to the one the club bought in January 2023.

Coming of age

Rutter failed to make his mark last season after signing for a club-record fee but has shown what he is all about this season. Operating just behind the striker, the 21-year-old has looked far too good for the division at times. Rutter has racked up 12 league assists so far and if he's at his best, Leeds usually win.
