Le Havre ensured survival in the French top-flight thanks to their 2-0 win over Lorient on the final day. It ended a 11-match winless streak for the Dean Club, and guaranteed a fourth consecutive season in Ligue 1.

Didier Digard’s men have now won only one of their last 12 competitive games, and remain winless at Stade Oceane in five matches.

Their pre-season didn’t provide any silver lining either, as they won only two of their six summer friendlies (D1, L3).

Felix Mambimbi and Stephan Zagadou are out with injuries, while Abdoulaye Toure is also expected to miss this clash for Le Havre.

Monaco will see Ansu Fati and Mohammed Salisu sidelined due to injuries. Christian Mawissa is suspended due to accumulation of yellow cards.

The Monegasques opened the new season with a 3-2 win over Polish club Gornik Zabrze in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League final round qualifiers.

Filipe Luis takes charge of Monaco, and will look to make it six opening day victories in Ligue 1 for the Principality club.

The visit to Le Havre is a challenge in itself, with Monaco winless in five visits to Stade Oceane.

Whispers predicts: Le Havre 1-2 Monaco

Monaco are undoubtedly the favourites, with 93/100 (1.93) odds in their favour to make it six wins on the opening day.

Le Havre scored in all but one of their pre-season friendlies. This makes BTTS – Yes at 6/11 (1.55) a very tempting prospect.

Monaco looked sharp in their Conference League season opener, scoring three goals. Monaco to score Over 1.5 total goals at 8/11 (1.72) offers valuable returns.

Monaco are also expected to start stronger than the hosts and carry that form over to the second half. HT/FT – Monaco/Monaco at 2/1 (3.00) carries significant returns.
