Montenegro will fancy their chances of making it three wins from three UEFA Nations League matches on Friday night, after performing well in both of their opening group matches.
Manager Mirko Vucinic has been in the post for just over a year now and despite starting with an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to the Faroe Islands, he has led the team to six wins from their last nine matches in all competitions.
If Montenegro can keep winning matches in Group C2, they will not only secure promotion to League B for the next Nations League campaign, but they will also give themselves half a chance of earning a Euro 2028 playoff berth.
For the clash with Latvia, Vucinic has no fresh injury concerns, so he could go with an unchanged XI.
As for Latvia, their goal has already turned to trying to stay in League C after a disappointing start to their campaign.
After two matches, the Latvians have picked up just one point after losing to Armenia and drawing with Cyprus. The most concerning aspect from their perspective is the fact that they have failed to score a single goal across both matches.
Manager Paolo Nicolato has been in post for two-and-a-half years now, and there are now concerns around his suitability for the role, despite earning promotion from League D during the last Nations League campaign.
On Friday, Nicolato is expected to pack the defence and make life as difficult as possible for Montenegro.
