Manchester United took a big gamble this summer by not signing a new left-back, a decision that could come back to haunt them.

Luke Shaw, who joined Man Utd in 2014 and has made 328 appearances for the club, remains their first-choice left-back, but his future has now come under speculation.

According to reports, Shaw could leave Man Utd on a free transfer next summer, with no progress having been made over a new contract.

The 31-year-old has been a fantastic servant to the club, but given his age, he is unlikely to be offered a long-term deal if the Red Devils decide to keep him.

Liverpool are reportedly planning to block any move from Arsenal for Rio Ngumoha in the January transfer window.

The 18-year-old winger is regarded as a highly rated youngster who is expected to play a significant role under Andoni Iraola.

In recent weeks, it has been suggested that Arsenal could try to lure the winger away from Anfield if he fails to secure a regular starting berth.

According to reports, Liverpool have no intention of selling him to a rival club at any price.

The Citizens could face strong competition from Premier League rivals Aston Villa for his signature.

The goalkeeper currently has an £18.2m release clause, but River are looking to increase it significantly, with reports suggesting a new clause in the region of £86.7m.
