The January window is closed, but that does not mean that we are finished with transfer talk. Here, we take a closer look at some of the latest transfer news today.
One of the biggest stories of the day comes from Anfield as Liverpool consider making a move for Real Madrid’s unwanted £70m midfielder.
Elsewhere, Raheem Sterling has been turned down by the most random club yet.

Liverpool ponder summer move for Eduardo Camavinga
According to latest reports from Caught Offside, Liverpool are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, and are ready to make an offer of between £67m and £84m.
Liverpool’s interest comes amid Real Madrid’s reluctance to keep the French midfielder, with the player falling behind Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler in the pecking order.
Despite being under contract until the summer of 2029, Los Blancos would welcome a deal next summer – music to the ears of Liverpool who are currently lacking depth in midfield.
Another Premier League club who are thinking about pursuing the 23-year-old are Arsenal, though it is fair to say that the Gunners have already got plenty of options in the middle of the park.
Marcus Rashford eyes permanent Barcelona deal
England international Marcus Rashford does not want to return to Manchester United and is ready to take a pay cut in order to sign permanently for Barcelona, according to the latest reports from The Mirror.
Rashford wants his future to be resolved before the start of the 2026 World Cup, and his ideal choice would be to remain with Barcelona.
The Catalan giants have the option to sign the forward for £26m, and Rashford’s commitment to lower wages could finally pave the way for a permanent deal.
There was hope that Rashford would return to United following the departure of Ruben Amorim, though reports indicate that the England star is loving life in Spain and does not want to return to Manchester.
Union Berlin turn down Raheem Sterling offer
In arguably one of most random transfer links of the year, Raheem Sterling was offered to Bundesliga side Union Berlin according to German transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Managing director of the club, Horst Heldt, shut down any suggestion that Sterling was about to join the Berlin-based club during an interview with Sky.
He said: “Sometimes you have to rub your eyes (…) In this case, it didn’t really seem serious. We didn’t pursue it any further.”
One huge hurdle for Sterling and his representatives will be finding a club that could accommodate his enormous wage expectations. The former England international was making £325k-per-week at Chelsea – half of Union’s entire weekly wage bill.
