Latest transfer news today: Erling Haaland linked with move away from Man City as Liverpool target Van Dijk replacement

With the news that Manchester City are set to be found guilty of 114/115 charges brought against them by the Premier League, the transfer rumour mill has hit overdrive in relation to potential outgoings from the Etihad Stadium.

Should City face a severe punishment, many players could elect to leave the club, including star striker Erling Haaland, who would have the pick of just about any club in Europe.

Several clubs to target Erling Haaland

Reports from across Europe indicate that several European giants are preparing to bid for Erling Haaland as soon as Man City's punishment is revealed.

According to El Nacional, Barcelona are leading the race and will use former Manchester City midfielder Rodri to convince the Norwegian that his future lies in Catalonia.

Meanwhile, Football Insider are reporting that Real Madrid and Arsenal have already made contact with intermediaries over a potential move for Haaland. Both clubs would love to have the striker in their ranks.

Of the three clubs linked, Barcelona makes the most sense at this stage. They are short up front after Robert Lewandowski's departure and could provide Haaland with excellent service via Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

Man Utd and Liverpool to battle for Van de Ven

According to reports in the British press, Manchester United and Liverpool are both eyeing up a move for Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven.

According to Caught Offside, the two English giants, who are also preparing legal action against Manchester City, believe they can get the Dutchman out of Tottenham next summer for around £80m.

Liverpool are looking for a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, while United are planning an entire revamp of their defence in the summer.

Tottenham have tied van de Ven down to a long-term deal in North London, so could end up pricing both clubs out of a move. However, if the player requests a move, they could be powerless to stop him.

Martin Zubimendi offered Arsenal escape route

Martine Zubimendi could be on his way out of Arsenal after falling down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

According to El Nacional, Arsenal value the Spanish midfielder at around £80m and are expecting heavy interest in the player come the end of the season if his playing doesn't improve.

The report lists PSG as his most likely destination, with Luis Enrique reportedly a big fan of the player.

Zubimendi is now behind Declan Rice, Bruno Guimaraes and Myles Lewis-Skelly in the midfield ranks at Arsenal despite only signing for the club in the summer of 2025.
