The January window might be behind us, but that does not mean we are short of huge transfer stories. Here, we take a closer look at some of the latest transfer news today.

One of the biggest stories of the day comes from Saudi Arabia, with Cristiano Ronaldo weighing up his options amid a sensational fallout with the league’s organisers. Could he return to Old Trafford for a third time?

Elsewhere, Manchester City are pondering an ambitious £100m bid for one of the biggest English talents.

Here are the biggest headlines of the day…

Cristiano Ronaldo linked with Europe but not Man Utd

Belgian football journalist Sacha Tavolieri believes that Cristiano Ronaldo is pondering a return to Europe, and he reports that a third spell at Manchester United is not on the cards.

According to his information, the Red Devils have ‘no interest’ in bringing the 41-year-old back to Old Trafford, despite the current unrest that the forward is experiencing in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo has been on strike for the last two games after feeling aggrieved at the fact his club, Al-Nassr, failed to strengthen during the recent transfer window.

The icy relationship between Ronaldo and the league’s hierarchy has led to a series of reports linking the former Real Madrid man with a transfer. However, any deal would be tricky considering the Portuguese star has a £42m release clause in his contract.

Manchester City are on the hunt for a new star midfielder, with the club eyeing up a £100m summer move for Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson, according to latest reports from TEAMtalk.

City are reportedly looking to start formal negotiations in the coming months as they look to secure a replacement for the outgoing Bernardo Silva.

The club spent £84m during the winter window bringing in Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi, though their spending is not expected to end there amid some potentially major changes.

With doubts over the futures of Rodri, Jack Grealish and Mateo Kovacic, City may have to dig even deeper into their pockets to find the appropriate replacements.

Future of Marcus Rashford rests on election result

The future of Marcus Rashford remains uncertain, with The Times reporting that his final destination could be settled by the outcome of Barcelona’s presidential election.

Rashford has enjoyed a resurgence during his loan spell in La Liga, though with the Catalan giants struggling on the financial front, there are doubts over their ability to complete a permanent £26m deal for his signature.

The 28-year-old appeared to be at the centre of Joan Laporta’s re-election campaign, with the Barca chief vowing to complete the deal should he win the upcoming vote, although Laporta's resignation on Monday could throw a spanner in the works.

Rashford, who was linked with a potential return to Manchester United following the sacking of Ruben Amorim, has not expressed any type of desire about a return to Old Trafford.
