Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany has instructed his club to push for the signing of Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, according to the latest reports from transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Gordon’s representatives have been in touch with the German champions for months, and the proposed deal has now been approved by the Bayern manager.
With Newcastle looking to raise funds for a summer squad refresh, Gordon was always likely to depart St James’ Park at the end of the season despite having four more years on his contract.
The 25-year-old winger delivered several eye-catching performances in the Champions League this season, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists across his 12 appearances. His performances in the Premier League have been less impressive.

Mohamed Salah will become a free agent at the end of the current Premier League season, though his next destination remains a mystery as two big players continue to battle over his signature.
According to the latest reports from TEAMtalk, Salah is “firmly” considering a move to America, with San Diego FC emerging as one of the possible clubs.
The MLS franchise is currently owned by Egyptian-British billionaire Mohamed Mansour, and the club would be backed by the MLS to try and bring the Liverpool forward to the competition.
Saudi Arabia are also in the running for Salah’s signature, despite having a world-record offer of £215m turned down back in the summer of 2023.
Napoli set asking price for Romelu Lukaku

Serie A giants Napoli want at least £20m for Romelu Lukaku as the club looks to part ways with the Belgian forward, according to reports by TEAMtalk.
AC Milan and Inter Milan have already snubbed the striker, with both clubs showing a clear lack of interest in a player that has one league goal to his name following an injury-plagued campaign.
The report claims that Napoli’s “intermediaries” are exploring options away from the Serie A, meaning Lukaku’s return to the Premier League should not be easily dismissed.
The 32-year-old, who has essentially been replaced by Rasmus Hojlund in Napoli’s front line, will be out of contract in the summer of 2027.
