Over 3.5 total goals

Juventus' last three wins have averaged four goals per game

Juventus will be expecting to beat Wydad when the two teams meet in their second game of the FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) on Sunday. Both teams had contrasting results in their opening matches in Group G, as Juve thrashed Al Ain 5-0, while Wydad lost 2-0 to Manchester City.

Juventus vs Wydad prediction: Old Lady expected to prosper

Key stats

  • Juventus have won three games in a row, and are unbeaten in six in all competitions.
  • Wydad have lost three successive matches across all competitions without scoring.
  • Juventus have scored a total of 10 goals across their last three victories.

Correct score prediction: Juventus 4-0 Wydad

Juventus have been free-scoring of late, and after putting five goals past Al Ain in their previous encounter, the Old Lady will be confident of racking up a few against a Wydad side low on confidence. Indeed, having lost their previous three matches to-nil against higher-level opposition, they will not be fancied at all against Juve.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Juventus hugely favoured by bookmakers

  • HOME: 1/4 (1.25) – 80.0%
  • DRAW: 9/2 (5.50) – 18.2%
  • AWAY: 12/1 (13.00) – 7.7%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

Unsurprisingly given the level that both teams usually play at, Juventus are heavily fancied by bookmakers. A draw is rated at under a 20% chance according to the implied probabilities, with a Wydad victory rated at under 10%.

Most recent H2Hs: Never faced off against each other

Given that these two teams usually play on different continents, perhaps it is not a surprise to see that they have never played against each other before.

Juventus preview: Locatelli could give welcome boost

Juventus may be able to bring back influential captain and midfield maestro Manuel Locatelli back into their starting XI after facing a spell out through injury. However, Juan Cabral, Mattia Perin, Bremer and Arkadiusz Milik are all expected to miss out.

Predicted lineup: Di Gregorio (GK), Kalulu, Gatti, Kelly, Gonzalez, Thuram, Locatelli, Cambiaso, Conceicao, Yildiz & Kolo Muani

Wydad preview: Rayhi could earn start

Mohamed Rayhi could be promoted from the bench for Wydad after scoring 11 goals in the league last campaign. Otherwise, they may stick to what they think is their strongest XI.

Player to watch: Randal Kolo Muani

Randal Kolo Muani grabbed himself a brace when Juventus beat Al Ain 5-0 last time out. He also scored in Juve's previous match before the tournament started, and has proven himself to be the first-choice number nine.

That is a great accolade to have, considering lethal Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic is also at the club. Nonetheless, with more goals and impressive performances, the Old Lady could look to make his loan move from PSG permanent.
