Galatasaray to win and over 1.5

Galatasaray are in superb form and boast far superior quality across the pitch compared to Basaksehir, who have struggled badly this season. With Cimbom unbeaten in the league and scoring freely, while Basaksehir have just one win from seven, the visitors look strong favourites to take all three points and score multiple goals in the game.

Istanbul Basaksehir will hope they can pull off a miracle when they host league leaders Galatasaray on Saturday evening at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium.

The hosts have won just one game all season, while the visitors are yet to lose after eight league games, recording seven wins and a draw.

Here is our Istanbul Basaksehir vs Galatasaray prediction and preview, where you will also find the potential lineups and key statistics for the game.

Istanbul Basaksehir vs Galatasaray prediction: Galatasaray are ruthless

Key statistics

  • Galatasaray have won the last six Super Lig meetings between both sides.
  • Galatasaray have won all their away league games this season and did not concede a goal in those games.
  • Basaksehir are without a league win at home this season.

Correct score prediction: Istanbul Basaksehir 0-2 Galatasaray

Galatasaray’s superior quality and attacking depth are expected to overwhelm an out-of-form Basaksehir side, who may struggle to cope with their intensity.

Cimbom have also been rock-solid defensively away from home, rarely allowing opponents a clear chance, which further strengthens their prospects of victory.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Bookmakers have Galatasaray as outright favourites

  • Home (Istanbul Basaksehir): 4/1( 5.00) – 20% chance
  • Draw: 17/5 (4.40) – 22.7% chance
  • Away (Galatasaray): 4/7 (1.57) – 63.6% chance

*Odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

These odds show Galatasaray are heavy favourites heading into this fixture, with a 63.6% implied probability of winning. Basaksehir, meanwhile, have just a 20% chance, indicating they are clear underdogs despite playing at home.

Galatasaray to score over 1.5 goals is 1.53 odds, and that appears to be a safe bet given that they have scored at least twice in each of their last five meetings with Basaksehir.

Most recent H2Hs: Cimbom’s dominance is clear

Galatasaray are unbeaten in the last six meetings against Basaksehir, recording five wins and a draw, which came in the Turkish Cup.

The last time Basaksehir won this fixture was also in the cup, back in 2023 and it was at Rams Park. However, they are yet to smell a home victory since 2017.

Istanbul Basaksehir preview: Struggles persist despite managerial change

Istanbul Basaksehir’s season has been far from ideal, with the Grey Owls managing only one win from seven league games and heading into the international break without a victory in their last three, a run that included consecutive defeats.

Their struggles have persisted despite a managerial reshuffle that saw Nuri Sahin take charge after interim boss Marco Pezzaiuoli managed two draws and a loss following Cagdas Atan’s exit.

Sahin began his reign positively with a 2-0 win away to Fatih Karagumruk, but since then, results have dipped, drawing 1-1 with Alanyaspor before losing 2-1 to Konyaspor and 1-0 at Goztepe.

With just six points on the board, Basaksehir sit 13th, one point clear of the relegation zone.

Basaksehir could be without midfielder Olivier Kemen, who is being monitored after missing the last two outings with a muscle issue, while winger Yusuf Sari remains sidelined.

Centre-back Leo Duarte is still a doubt for this clash, having missed Basaksehir’s last six games with a persistent foot injury.

Predicted lineup: Sengezer (GK), Opoku, Ozdemir, Gureler, Operi, Harit, Kaluzinski, Crespo, Ebosele, Shomurodov & Da Costa

Istanbul Basaksehir's last five fixtures

  • 05.10.25 – Goztepe 1-0 Basaksehir
  • 28.09.25 – Konyaspor 2-1 Basaksehir
  • 21.09.25 – Basaksehir 1-1 Alanyaspor
  • 17.09.25 – Karagumruk 0-2 Basaksehir
  • 13.09.25 – Besiktas 2-1 Basaksehir

Galatasaray preview: A little glitch but they remain clear of the others

Galatasaray finally dropped points for the first time this Super Lig season, as they battled back to earn a 1-1 draw against Besiktas despite playing with 10 men after Davinson Sanchez’s red card in the 34th minute.

That result means Galatasaray have now collected 22 points from eight matches and remain comfortably top, five points clear of second-placed Trabzonspor.

Buruk’s men continue to impress, scoring a league-best 20 goals while conceding just three.

However, Galatasaray have defensive worries ahead of this weekend’s clash, with Sanchez suspended and Wilfried Singo sidelined after limping off against Besiktas.

Predicted lineup: Cakir (GK), Sallai, Lemina, Bardacki, Jakobs, Toreira, Sara, Akgun, Gundogan, Yilmaz & Osimhen

Galatasaray's last five fixtures

  • 04.10.25 – Galatasaray 1-1 Besiktas
  • 30.09.25 – Galatasaray 1-0 Liverpool
  • 26.09.25 – Alanyaspor 0-1 Galatasaray
  • 22.09.25 – Galatasaray 3-1 Konyaspor
  • 18.09.25 – Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 Galatasaray

Player to Watch: Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen heads into this clash full of confidence after bagging a hat-trick for Nigeria during the international break.

Though he has only managed two goals in five league outings so far, last season’s Golden Boot winner remains a constant danger in front of goal, and Basaksehir’s defence will know they cannot afford to give him space.
