🔥 Our Hot tip

Fenerbahce to win + Over 2.5 goals

Basaksehir are up against a well-drilled Fenerbahce side who have won each of their last seven meetings, and given the gulf in quality and depth between the two teams, we fancy the visitors to secure all three points here.

Fenerbahce will be looking to climb to the top of the Turkish Super Lig standings when they take on Istanbul Basaksehir on Saturday. Having lost each of the previous seven meetings between the two teams, the Grey Owls will head into the weekend looking to get one over the visitors and strengthen their position in the top half of the table.

FootballWhispers’ Istanbul Basaksehir vs Fenerbahce prediction takes a look at the odds of both sides securing all three points at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium on Saturday.

Istanbul Basaksehir vs Fenerbahce prediction: Fenerbahce to extend hot streak against the Grey Owls

Key stats

  • Fenerbahce have won each of their last seven games against Istanbul Basaksehir, scoring 17 goals and keeping four clean sheets since a 1-0 defeat in February 2022.
  • Basaksehir are on a run of just one win from their last eight home games across all competitions, while losing three and claiming four draws since the start of August.
  • Fenerbahce are one of just two sides yet to suffer defeat away from home in the Super Lig this season, having picked up four wins and three draws. They currently boast the second-best away record in the league with 15 points from seven games.

Correct score prediction: Istanbul Basaksehir 1-2 Fenerbahce

Buoyed by their dominant display against Kasimpasa, Istanbul Basaksehir will head into the weekend with renewed confidence as they look to put together a fine run of form.

However, Basaksehir are up against a well-drilled Fenerbahce side who have been tough to crack this season, and given the gulf in quality and depth between the two teams, we fancy Fenerbahce to secure all three points.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Fenerbahce heavily favoured by bookies

  • HOME: 19/5 (4.80) – 20.8%
  • DRAW: 16/5 (4.20) – 23.8%
  • AWAY: 8/13 (1.67) – 60%

Having suffered consecutive defeats against Genclerbirligi and Trabzonspor in the first two games in November, Istanbul Basaksehir turned a corner last Saturday when they cruised to a 3-1 victory over Kasimpasa.

Nuri Sahin’s men made the most of their chances at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium, with as Abbosbek Fayzullaev, Amine Harit and Eldor Shomurodov all finding the back of the net to fire the visitors to their fourth league win of the season.

Istanbul Basaksehir have picked up 16 points from their 14 Super Lig matches so far to sit ninth in the league standings, level on points with 10th-placed Alanyaspor, but they could move into eighth place with all three points this weekend.

While Basaksehir will be looking to continue from where they left off against Kasimpasa, their chance of victory this weekend is currently priced at 19/5 (4.80).

Fenerbahce head into the weekend unbeaten in each of their last 12 matches across all competitions and have been given a 60% win probability, while there is a 23.8% possibility of the game ending in a deadlock.

Jhon Duran struck in the fifth minute of stoppage time to snatch a point for Fenerbahce last weekend when they played out a 1-1 draw with rivals Galatasaray in their top-of-the-table clash at the Chobani Stadium.

Domenico Tedesco’s men are the only unbeaten side in the Super Lig this season, with nine wins and five draws from their 14 games so far to sit second in the league standings, one point behind first-placed Galatasaray.

Eldor Shomurodov has been on song for Istanbul Basaksehir this season and the Uzbekistan striker will be one to look out for this weekend.

With his late strike against Kasimpasa, the 30-year-old now has 10 goals under his belt in the Super Lig to sit second in the division’s scoring chart, only behind Paul Onuachu (11).

Shomurodov, who joined from Italian outfit AS Roma in the summer, should spearhead the attack for Basaksehir once again, teaming up with Abbosbek Fayzullaev and Amine Harit in the front three.
