Whisper+ analysis

Authenticity (4.5/5): Ipswich keeping tabs on One

Ipswich are bracing themselves for offers for Delap this summer, with the Tractor Boys on course to be relegated to the Championship.

With Delap expected to depart, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Ipswich have put One on a shortlist of potential replacements for the England Under-21 international.

Value (2/5): Sheffield United have no reason to sell

One, who joined Sheffield United from Hamilton Academical in 2021,  put pen to paper on a new long-term deal last summer, which is set to keep him at Bramall Lane until June 2029.

As a result, the Blades are under no pressure to sell the highly-rated striker even if Ipswich come calling in the summer transfer window.

Suitability (2/5): Still needs time to develop

The 18-year-old was called up to the Scotland Under-21 squad last month, demonstrating that he is highly thought of in the international set-up. The teenager made his debut in a 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland, before he found the net in a heavy 6-1 defeat against Iceland.

While he has plenty of potential, One is still in the early stages of his career, having made just 13 appearances for Sheffield United this season.

Upgrade? (1.5/5): Tough to replace Delap

One has one Championship goal to his name this season, and given his lack of experience, it seems difficult to see how he can replace Delap for next season.

Logic (2/5): Unlikely to leave

After signing a long-term deal last summer, One would surely be reluctant to leave Sheffield United just one year later. There is also the prospect that Chris Wilder's side could win promotion to the Premier League, while Ipswich are set to drop down to the Championship.

Whisper+ verdict: 12/25

Ipswich may have a real interest in the youngster, but we do not see this move coming to fruition. Sheffield United will likely be keen to retain One's services, while Kieran McKenna's side may have to consider players with greater experience to replace Delap this summer.
