Ipswich capped off a summer of significant spending with the signing of Zian Flemming from Burnley on Deadline Day, and he could make his debut here.
Gary O'Neil may look to change things up after they were well-beaten by Man United, but Jack Taylor and Jaden Philogene are among the injury absentees.
The Tractor Boys did get off to a good start though after earning promotion from the Championship, beating Sunderland the last time they were on their home patch in the league.
They followed that up with a 3-1 victory against Leicester City at Portman Road in the Carabao Cup, so will look to cause Liverpool plenty of problems.
As for the Reds, they ended the window with the highest net spend in the Premier League, after the £123m arrival of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.
He could make his debut for Andoni Iraola's side, but the likes of Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley remain unavailable.
It has been a steady start for the new manager, with successive draws against Newcastle and Forest as he still searches for his first win.
Liverpool are favourites here, but they may not find it easy given Ipswich's strong home form.
