Stoke preview: Sitting in mid-table

Stoke have secured six points from their opening five games which isn't great but it's better than Hull City.

Steven Schumacher was sacked after Stoke suffered a 1-0 defeat at Oxford Utd last time out, ending their two-game winning run in league and cup, but the club did progress in the next round of League Cup in midweek under caretaker manager Ryan Shawcroft.

Lynden Gooch picked up an injury during that defeat in Oxford and he joins Ben Pearson, Enda Stevens, Michael Rose and Sam Gallagher on the treatment table.

Predicted lineup: Johansson (GK), Gibson, Wilmot, Bocat, Tchamadeu, Moran, Burger, Sidibe, Bae, Cannon & Manhoef

Hull preview: Yet to win in the league

Hull's 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Utd means that Friday's guests have now failed to score in each of their last three league games.

The Tigers have lost three of their last five matches in all competitions, picking up all of their three points in the Championship via draws.

Steven Alzate, Andy Smith, Ryan Longman, Harvey Cartwright and Dogukan Sinik are the main injury concerns for Hull ahead of their trip to Stoke.

Predicted lineup: Pandur (GK), Coyle, Giles, Jones, McLoughlin, Burns, Mehlem, Omur, Bedia, Kamara & Belloumi

Player to watch: Lewis Koumas

On-loan Liverpool forward Lewis Koumas is enjoying his first run in competitive football and has already scored his first league goal for Stoke.

The 18-year-old, who can play on the wing, offers goals, creativity and pace to the Stoke attack and we can only see him getting better and better as the season goes on.

The Liverpool loanee has made a positive start to his Stoke career

The Chester-born attacker has already been capped by Wales on four occasions and looks set to have a really bright future in the game perhaps even more successful than his father who played for Tranmere and West Brom.

We're excited to see Koums take to the field against Hull on Friday night and could see the Liverpool loanee setting up or scoring the winning goal.
