After losing 2-0 away in Kosovo in the first leg of their Europa Conference League qualifying tie last week, Hibs restored their pride by turning the tie around at Easter Road on Thursday night with a resounding 4-1 victory.

While they will be hoping to carry the momentum of that win into this match, there is also a good chance of an adrenaline dump, particularly as nobody in the squad will be at their peak fitness at this stage of the season.

Hibs boss David Gray will be pleased that he is facing another team that were involved in Conference League qualifying this weekend, but he will also be wary of the fact that Motherwell's tie was a lot more straightforward than Hibs', which could become more significant the deeper we get into the match on Sunday.

As for their league aspiration this season, Hibs will be keen for a third-consecutive top-six finish and with Hearts expected to drop off, there could even be an opportunity to finish inside the top three.

On the injury front, Gray could welcome Ante Suto and Callum Wright back from injury this weekend, but Nicky Cadden and Jamie McGrath are expected to miss out.

As for Motherwell, their visit to the Faroe Islands on Thursday night could not have gone any better. After winning the first leg against HB Torshavn in Scotland 2-0, the Steelmen just had to keep things steady in the second leg, but they went beyond that, coming out on top 3-0.

A trip to the Faroe Islands would not have been how Alfred Johansson would have wanted to prepare for his first league match in charge of Motherwell, but now that they have navigated the tie successfully, he will see the merits of picking up a big win on the road.

The aim for Motherwell this season will be to build on what they achieved last season when they finished fourth, having been legitimate title contenders going into the final couple of months of the season.

This weekend, Johansson will begin his Scottish Premiership career without several first-team players, with Eythor Bjorgolfsson, Paul McGinn, Stephen O'Donnell, Jordan McGhee, Callum Hendry, and John Koutroumbis all injured.
