Player to watch – Vangelis Pavlidis
Vangelis Pavlidis has scored only six goals in 26 appearances for Greece, which is a disappointing return for such a good finisher, though the 25-year-old has a chance to write his name into Greek football folklore on Thursday.
Pavlidis in excellent form a club level
Pavlidis managed to rattle the net in each of his last two appearances at club level for AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie and the centre-forward has bagged nine goals in his last nine matches in the Netherlands overall. That impressive tally should ensure he has a kick in his step this week.
