Getafe's fortunes have worsened over the course of their season. Jose Bordalas' men won two of their first three games across all competitions but have gone on a five-match winless streak since then.

Interestingly, the hosts have had contrasting results at home and on the road; while they have lost all four of their away matches across all competitions this season, Getafe are unbeaten in six consecutive home games, stretching back to the previous campaign.

The Madrid-based outfit are coming off a 1-0 defeat at Real Betis and are 16th in La Liga after earning five points from their first six league matches.

Bordalas will have to do without the injured Abdel Abqar (muscle), Kiko Femenía (hamstring), Christantus Uche (ACL, out for the season), and Juanmi (knee), while Mario Martin is suspended following his sending-off in Thursday's loss at Betis.

On the other hand, Malaga's struggles continued with a 3-1 home defeat against Villarreal.

The visitors currently find themselves at the bottom of the La Liga table and are one of two winless sides in the league this season.

Goals have been hard to come by for Juan Funes' side, as they have drawn blanks in three of six league outings and have not scored multiple goals in a game this term.

As many as five players are expected to be unavailable for selection. Diego Murillo (ACL), Aaron Ochoa (meniscus), and Julen Lobete (ACL) all have long-term injuries. Jens-Lys Cajuste (muscle) and Fernando Calero (broken rib) are also confirmed out, while Adam Aznou's status is questionable due to a stomach virus.

These teams will clash for the first time since May 2018, although it is worth mentioning that Getafe won three of the last four H2Hs.

Whispers Predicts: Getafe 1-0 Malaga

Priced at 11/10 (2.10), Getafe are considered favourites by the bookmakers ahead of this clash.

Despite their recent shortcomings, the hosts have put up some solid results at home, and with three wins in the last four clashes between these teams, we are confident that the Madrid-based side will return to winning ways this weekend.

Three of Getafe's last four encounters with Malaga have gone below the 1.5-goal mark, and this can be backed at 6/4 (2.50).

We also fancy a 1-0 correct score at 17/4 (5.25). Getafe won three of the last four H2Hs by the same scoreline.
