* Betting odds were correct at the time of publication but are subject to change

Genk will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat at Anderlecht over the weekend with a victory of their own at home to Antwerp on Tuesday. The visitors were held to a draw in their last game but do have a good recent record against Genk and will be aiming to make it six games unbeaten against the home side in all competitions.

Genk vs Antwerp prediction – Betting tips & odds

Hot Tip – Over 2.5 Goals

  • Five of the last six encounters between these two clubs have produced over 2.5 goals.
  • Genk have seen five of their last six matches end with at least three goals being scored.

Another reason that we have backed over 2.5 goals as our main prediction is that four of Antwerp's last five matches have witnessed at least three goals.

Genk vs Antwerp team news

Genk

Genk took the lead away at Anderlecht in the seventieth minute but still ended up losing the game. Anderlecht weren't behind for long, just four minutes in fact, and the hosts scored a winning goal in stoppage time to send the Genk fans home disappointed.

Joseph Paintsil was shown two yellow cards and received his marching orders in that defeat to Anderlecht so won't be available for the Antwerp game, while Aziz Ouattara remains sidelined through injury.

Predicted Lineup: Vandevoordt (GK), Kayembe, Cuesta, Muñoz, Sadick, Hrošovský, Heynen, El Khannouss, Bonsu Baah, Sor & Fadera

Antwerp

Antwerp took the lead in first-half stoppage time against Westerlo on Saturday night. However, the visitors scored twice in the space of six second-half minutes to go 2-1 up and the hosts needed a late goal from veteran defender Toby Alderweireld to rescue a share of the spoils.

Jelle Bataille picked up an injury in that draw and could now miss the trip to Genk on Tuesday along with the likes of Owen Wijndal, Anthony Valencia, Jacob Ondrejka and Björn Engels.

Predicted Lineup: Butez (GK), Alderweireld, Vines, De Laet, Coulibaly, Ekkelenkamp, Keita, Vermeeren, Janssen, Muja & Ejuke

Player to Watch: Patrik Hroovsky

Genk will be looking to the creativity of Patrik Hroovsky in the absence of Joseph Paintsil who is suspended for the Antwerp match.

Hroovsky, 31, has provided as many assists as Paintsil this season (4) but there will be more pressure on the experienced attacking midfielder to provide the killer passes on Tuesday if Genk are to pick up a positive result from this game.
