A repeat of the semi-final in the last World Cup sees France take on Morocco in Boston on Thursday night this time around.

Les Bleus were victorious 2-0 in 2022 to set up a final with Argentina, which they eventually lost on penalties.

Meanwhile, the Atlas Lions made history by becoming the first African nation to reach the World Cup semi-finals, and should they beat France here, they will be in the last four again.

France are bidding to make a third straight World Cup semi-final when they take on Morocco.

Les Bleus have reached the final of the last two tournaments, winning it in 2018 and just missing out in 2022.

Didier Deschamps' side are favourites with the bookies to win what would be their third World Cup trophy, but Morocco should prove a stern test for them having only just beaten Paraguay 1-0 in the previous round.

Nonetheless, France come into this in great form and with a relatively clean bill of health, although there are doubts over the fitness of key midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

Likewise, Morocco will be sweating on Ismael Saibari's fitness after he was forced off in their 3-0 win against co-hosts Canada in the round of 16.

Having scored three World Cup goals so far, he is a key player for the Atlas Lions, but Mohamed Ouahbi may have to try and find a way to play without him.

Nonetheless, the most recent AFCON winners will still feel they can produce a major scalp here, having held five-time winners Brazil to a 1-1 draw in the group stage and beaten perennial bridesmaids the Netherlands on penalties in the round of 32.

Beating France will be their biggest challenge at the World Cup so far though, but ranked only four places below them in the FIFA rankings, Morocco should still give them plenty of problems to think about.

Whispers predicts: France 2-1 Morocco

France are 8/13 (1.62) favourites to win and 2/7 (1.29) favourites to qualify, and based on their form and recent World Cup record, we feel inclined to aagree.

However, Morocco are in great form too and having also scored in every World Cup game so far, BTTS – Yes at 21/20 (2.05) certainly appeals.

Kylian Mbappe has stolen most of the headlines for France with his seven goals so far, making him the joint-top scorer at the World Cup at the time of writing.

However, Michael Olise is another player who has shone, and he currently leads the charts for assists with five so far.

Thus, Olise to make over 0.5 assists at 11/5 (3.20) is worth a punt in our eyes.

Our final niche pick focuses on the corners market, as four of France's five matches at the World Cup have produced over 8.5 corners.

In light of this, we are backing Over 8.5 corners at 7/10 (1.70), while our overall prediction of a 2-1 France win is also available at 8/1 (9.00).

📈 France vs. Morocco — Whispers' Tips

> Over 8.5 corners at 7/10 (1.70) | Likelihood: Probable

> BTTS – Yes at 21/20 (2.05) | Likelihood: Possible

> Olise to make over 0.5 assists at 11/5 (3.20) | Likelihood: Possible
