Under 2.5 total goals

Both teams have averaged under three total goals per game in the CWC

Both Fluminense and Al Hilal are surprise quarter-finalists as they prepare to take on each other in the FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) on Friday night. Indeed, Fluminense beat UEFA Champions League (UCL) finalists Inter Milan 2-0 in the last-16, while Al Hilal won a thriller 4-3 against the previous CWC holders Manchester City.

Fluminense vs Al Hilal prediction: Saudis may need extra-time again

Key stats

  • Fluminense have kept three clean sheets in the tournament so far, conceding just twice.
  • Al Hilal have scored a total of six goals in their last two games, winning both.
  • Both teams are unbeaten in the tournament.

Correct score prediction: Fluminense 1-1 Al Hilal

Fluminense boast a formidable defence in the tournament, while Al Hilal showed in their last outing that they are a major threat going forward. Thus, both teams could be evenly matched, with extra-time and potentially penalties needed to determine the overall winner.

Player to watch: Marcos Leonardo

Marcos Leonardo is doing brilliantly well in replacing the injured Mitrovic for Al Hilal. Indeed, his brace against City last time out took him to three goals in total for the tournament so far.

Leonardo is now the joint-second top scorer at the CWC as a result, and is firmly in contention to win the Golden Boot. Benfica's Argentine star Angel Di Maria currently leads the race with four goals to his name.
