Key Stats
- Neither of Fleetwood's last two matches produced more than two goals.
- The most recent clash between these two teams in Fleetwood finished 1-1.

Correct score prediction: Fleetwood 1-1 Accrington
Fleetwood started the season well but have since won just one of their last five matches in all competitions. Accrington, meanwhile have failed to win five of their last six matches. Therefore, given how poor both teams have been in recent weeks, it is difficult to justify a winner either way.

Fleetwood preview: A good chance to regain form
Fleetwood haven't had a great time of it in recent weeks, but this is an excellent opportunity to get back to winning ways, even if they do end up needing a penalty shootout. It is customary for managers to rotate players in the EFL Trophy, but Fleetwood should still line up with a strong starting XI, with no injuries reported.
Predicted lineup: Lynch, Potter, Bolton, Mallarkey, Medley, Helm, Morrison, Bonds, Johnson, Evans, Norwood
Last five matches
- Barrow 0-1 Fleetwood
- Fleetwood 1-1 Oldham
- Fleetwood 1-4 Crewe
- Bromley 2-2 Fleetwood
- Barnsley 2-2 Fleetwood
Accrington preview: More cup success?
Accrington Stanley have been poor in the league so far, winning none of their opening five matches. However, they did manage to pick up a win in their EFL Cup first round match, so perhaps they will enjoy the opportunity to play in another cup competition this week. With no new injuries, they should start with their strongest possible starting XI.
Predicted lineup: Wright (GK), Ward, Rawson, Matthews, Harris Sass, Sinclair, Walton, Connolly, Bauress, Brown, Madden
Last five matches
- Shrewsbury 0-0 Accrington
- Accrington 0-2 Doncaster
- Accrington 1-1 Grimsby
- Salford 2-1 Accrington
- Accrington 2-1 Peterborough
Player to watch: James Norwood
James Norwood is the new kid on the block at Fleetwood, except he isn't exactly a kid at the age of 34. The experienced front man has returned from non-league at the twilight of his career for another crack at the EFL, but Fleetwood will hope that he can start repaying them with goals soon.
