Everyone associated with Fleetwood has been looking forward to this cup tie since the draw was made last month, and will perhaps be inspired by Grimsby Town, a fellow League Two side, who defeated Manchester United in last year's competition.

Like Grimsby last season, Fleetwood have not made a strong start to the new season, and they come into the match languishing in 18th place in the league table.

Manager Matt Lawlor only took the reins in March, and after leading the club to a 15th-place finish last season, he will be hoping to push on this time around. However, after 13 league matches, the Fishermen have won just three.

For the match against Arsenal, Lawlor will pick his strongest XI. Lewis McCann misses out due to suspension, while Kane Thompson Summers and Andy Cannon are both injured.

As for Arsenal, this is a rare opportunity for Mikel Arteta to rest all of his star names, meaning the Gunners could line up with an inexperienced starting XI.

The Arsenal camp will be in high spirits ahead of kick-off after moving level with Man City at the top of the Premier League table on Saturday, as their quest for silverware this season continues.

The Gunners lost in the Carabao Cup final last season, so there should be extra motivation within the squad to progress to the quarter-finals on Tuesday night, even if the starting XI is unlikely to feature any of the players who competed at Wembley last March.

Youngsters Max Dowman, Marli Salmon and Andre Harriman-Annous are all expected to start at Highbury, while Bukayo Saka, Ricardo Calafiori, Christos Tzolis and William Saliba are all injured.
