Falkirk's brilliant season in 2025/26 was underpinned by a hot start, but it's fair to say they rode their luck at times as the season progressed and ultimately ran out of gas down the final straight.
The Bairns ended the campaign with five defeats from their last six league matches, and they have struggled to wrestle any momentum back over the summer, and have now been eliminated from the Scottish League Cup following defeats to Alloa and Ayr United.
