Dundee come into this match with a spring in their step after winning their last two Scottish Premiership matches, but Rangers will provide a much tougher test than Motherwell and Falkirk.
The two wins have lifted Dundee up to fourth in the table, and although the season is still young, their fans are already dreaming of a potential European tour next season.
If the hosts are to get something from the match on Saturday, they will have to battle against history as they have not won any of their last 20 matches against Rangers, a record that goes back nearly a decade.
Manager Steven Pressley will be without the injured quintet of Finlay Robertson, Ryan Finnigan, Bobby Wales, Joe Westley and Simon Murray this weekend.
As for Rangers, they picked up where they left off before the international break last weekend, dismantling Kilmarnock 3-1 at Ibrox.
The win proved to many that Derek McInnes' side are well equipped to challenge Celtic for the title this season, particularly on the back of back-to-back Old Firm triumphs for Gers in the league and cup.
This weekend, they play before Celtic, who are still licking their wounds after losing 4-1 to Benfica on Thursday night, which gives them a chance to temporarily go into top spot.
McIness has injury problems of his own, though, with Cameron Devlin, Daisuke Yokota, Lawrence Shankland, Youssef Chermiti and Jose Cifuentes all in the treatment room.
