Portugal will take on Demark in the second leg of their UEFA Nations League quarter-final tie on Sunday, 23 March with the hosts in need of a big performance to turn the tie around.
Denmark come into the match with a one-goal advantage thanks to Rasmus Hojlund's late winner in the first leg and they now need to just hold what they have to make it through to the semi-finals.

Portugal vs Denmark prediction: The hosts to turn the tie around
Key Stats
- Portugal have won all three of their previous home matches in this season's Nations League.
- Denmark haven't won any of their away matches in this season's Nations League.
- Bruno Fernandes has scored seven goals in his last eight matches.
Correct score prediction: Portugal 3-1 Denmark
Portugal are typically a much better side on home soil and they should get the job done on Sunday and progress to the semi-finals. They have far too much attacking talent in their ranks to blank again but their issues at the back should mean Denmark have chances of their own to get on the scoresheet.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Portugal start as the odds-on favourites
- HOME: 4/7 (1.57) – 63.6%
- DRAW: 3/1 (4.00) – 25%
- AWAY: 9/2 (5.50) – 18.2%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
The Portugal vs Denmark odds are weighted heavily in the favour of the home side which means the bookies could get stung if Denmark replicate their performance on Thursday night. Ladbrokes have given Portugal a 63.6% chance of winning on the night while Denmark have been given an 18.2% chance of victory.

Most recent H2Hs: A second meeting in ten years
This will be just the second time that Portugal and Denmark have played against each other in the last ten years but given some of the experienced players in both squads, there is still some familiarity there, especially after Thursday night. Portugal have won three of their last four encounters with Denmark which should give them some confidence ahead of Sunday.

Portugal preview: Ronaldo remains the elephant in the room
Cristiano Ronaldo remains a key player for Portugal despite the fact he plays his football in Saudi Arabia and is now 40 years old. For many people, he should have bowed out of the international scene several years ago and his presence, or lack of in many ways, in these big knockout matches continues to be a huge issue for Portugal. Can he silence the doubters this weekend?

Denmark preview: Looking for a big scalp
Denmark must be fed up with being labelled ‘tournament dark horses' but that is once again what is being thrown at them after winning the first leg. If they can hold what they have and progress through to the semi-finals, then they will start dreaming of a first tournament win since the 1995 Confederations Cup.

Player to watch: Bruno Fernandes

Since the turn of the year, Bruno Fernandes has been one of the best midfielders in Europe in terms of output for a desperately poor Manchester United side and he's the player that Denmark will fear the most on Sunday. Fernandes has spent the past few years digging an underperforming side out of sticky situations and he could quite easily do exactly the same here.
