Unlike several other nations competing at the World Cup, Czechia's route to the knockout stages is clear. They either beat Mexico and progress to the round of 32 or draw/lose and get on the first flight back home.

Miroslav Koubek's side arguably should not be in this position. They led in both of their opening two matches, yet are only on one point. The draw with South Africa will be particularly disappointing, as they started the match so strongly but ultimately allowed the African side back into the game in the second half.

Whether they can shake off the disappointment of those two games to down Mexico in Mexico City remains to be seen, but they could be helped out by a Mexico side that can take their foot off the gas with qualification already secured.

Koubek will likely stick with the same team that started against South Africa, given their hot start in that match. David Jurasek is their only absentee, with the defender ruled out for the rest of the tournament.

As for Mexico, they are playing to keep hold of the momentum they have worked so hard to get.

Yes, they have already qualified as group winners, but if they put in a poor display on Thursday, then it will affect the mood within the camp and among supporters ahead of their round of 32 match next week.

Javier Aguirre's side have been solid, if not spectacular, so far, but that is perhaps as good as they could have wished for with the current group. They are yet to concede a goal, though, and that is another record that Aguirre will be keen to retain before the knockout stages begin.

There will still be a temptation to rest some key personnel, though, not least Raul Jimenez, who has had his fair share of injuries over the last couple of years.

Cesar Montes could return to the starting XI after serving his one-match suspension against South Korea, after being controversially red-carded in Mexico's opening match against South Africa.
