Crystal Palace vs Sevilla Lineups, Team News, and Match Preview
Crystal Palace
The weeks are changing, the time is passing by and the new Premier League season is just around the corner, but something remains the same. Jefferson Lerma is still the only new player who signed for Crystal Palace this summer, and that was a free transfer. The fans are baffled and there is a certain level of unknown about what is going on at the club. The team's former star Wilfried Zaha just signed for Galatasaray and the supporters club is wondering whether it is possible that the Turkish side gave Zaha a bigger contract offer. To make things even worse, there is a growing sentiment that the board will let another talented player Michael Olise join Chelsea in a big-money move. The French player is currently injured.
Possible lineup: Matthews, Guehi, Andersen, Mitchell, Clyne, Lerma, Doucoure, Schlupp, Eze, Ebiowei, Edouard.
Sevilla
There were rumors a few weeks ago that Sevilla is in deep financial trouble and that the whole team is available on the market. However, the reality of the situation doesn't represent that sentiment. None of the best players have left, at least for now, and the club just bought center-back Loic Bade from Rennes. Adria Pedrosa also joined the team on a free transfer from Espanyol. Sevilla won their opening three friendly games before losing the last two, both against Germany's second-division teams. However, in the last match against Magdeburg, none of the first-team players were available.
Possible lineup: Dmitrovic, Montiel, Nianzou, Ortiz, Pedrosa, Gudelj, Bueno Sebastian, Rodriguez, Rakitic, Romero, Lamela.
Player to Watch: Erik Lamela
The Argentine veteran has been an important player for Sevilla since he joined the club from Tottenham two years ago. While participating in 73 games during that time, he scored 14 goals while assisting on six occasions. This is the second-most matches that he played for a team in his career behind his time at the London club.
Lamela previously played for River Plate and Roma where he made a name for himself that earned him a transfer to Tottenham. He played 257 games for the Spurs scoring 37 goals and delivering 47 assists. Lamela was also capped by Argentina national team 25 times and managed to score three goals.
