On Wednesday evening, Como will welcome Manchester United to Northern Italy for a Champions League clash at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

The match marks the first time in history that these two clubs have ever met, and with both sides locked together on three Champions League points, there is plenty riding on the outcome.

Given Man Utd's form, backing them to win in Como is hard to justify. However, there is one pro-United market worth considering, and it revolves around Bryan Mbeumo.

Since the international break, Mbeumo has been playing up front for Manchester United, and it's a role that he seems to be enjoying more than his previous right-wing role, where he often felt detached from the action.

The Cameroonian has scored in two of his three appearances since moving up front, and he found himself in plenty of goalscoring positions in United's last Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.

The price of 13/5 on Mbeumo to record two or more shots on target looks generous. Mbeumo has registered at least one shot on target in every match he has started this season, and has five in his last three appearances.

On this metric, he is trending in a positive direction and will be United's most likely goalscorer once again on Wednesday night.

Not your typical Italian opponents

The assumption whenever an English side faces an Italian club is that they are going to sit back, shut down spaces in key areas of the pitch and look to play on the counter-attack. That isn't the case with Como.

Cesc Fabregas has done an excellent job of turning Como into a serious attacking unit, but concerns remain around their defensive shape. Of the nine competitive games they've played this season, they have kept a clean sheet in just one of them.

Fabregas is going to ensure his team are on the front foot from the off on Wednesday, but that will leave them open to counter-attacks, an area in which Man Utd thrive.
