While Chelsea put up a decent fight against Arsenal, ultimately it resulted in Xabi Alonso's first competitive defeat as boss.
Nonetheless, the Blues will not feel too disheartened with context applied having lost away to the Premier League champions.
Now, they can attack the Carabao Cup with a strong XI, as they are not playing in Europe this season.
There are still doubts over Moises Caicedo's fitness though, while Marco Palestra and Jordan Henderson should be ruled out.
As for Leeds, Joe Rodon headlines the injury list, while Mateo Joseph and Ilia Gruev are also expected to miss out.
The Whites remain unbeaten this season in all competitions (W2, D2), but will be tested against a Chelsea side with a formidable attack.
It remains to be seen whether Daniel Farke will play his strongest XI here with Leeds also out of Europe, and he may be inspired by the run to the FA Cup semi-final last term.
Incidentally, they were knocked out by Chelsea at that stage, and will hope to avoid a repeat here.
