Martin O'Neill secured a huge victory against Besiktas on Thursday night, not just for Celtic's hopes of Europa League qualification but also for his job as he looks to end his career with more success.

O'Neill has faced questions about his suitability for the role of Celtic manager all season, and after his side lost 2-0 to Falkirk last weekend, a defeat to Besiktas would have only ramped up the pressure.

Instead, his Celtic side come into this one with renewed confidence, and will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing a side that has conceded 28 goals in the Scottish Premiership this season.

O'Neill only has a couple of injury concerns ahead of this one, with Alistair Johnston and Yang Hyun-Jun sidelined.

As for Kilmarnock, their season isn't exactly going to plan after only narrowly avoiding a relegation playoff at the end of last season.

Neil McCann would have been hoping to steer the club away from a similar relegation battle this time around, but with Kilmarnock currently 11th, that isn't exactly likely.

McCann was drafted in last January to get Kilmarnock out of trouble, and if results don't pick up over the next month or so, he could find himself out of the job before he reaches his first anniversary.

If Kilmarnock are to record their first victory over Celtic since 2023 on Sunday, they will do so without the injured duo of Bailey Rice and Maksymillian Stryjek.
