With the first leg of this Europa League quarter-final tie ending in a 3-0 win for Freiburg, it's clear that Celta are in a rough position, even though the second leg will be played in Vigo.

The hosts have been struggling lately and they've lost three times in the last four matches. They also only have a couple of wins in their last eight games in all competitions, so things would have to drastically change for Celta to overcome a three-goal deficit.

That being said, Celta Vigo are having a good season overall. Reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League is a solid result already and Celta are also in a good spot in La Liga where they are sixth in the standings and likely to secure European football for next season as well.

When it comes to team news, Celta are without injured Miguel Roman, while Hugo Alvarez, Mihailo Ristic, and Carl Starfelt are questionable.

Freiburg, on the other hand, enter this match in great form, with four wins in their last five games across the board. Obviously, they have a huge advantage after the first leg in Germany and all they already have one foot in the semi-finals of the Europa League, which would be a huge result for them. In fact, just reaching this stage is already the best Freiburg have ever done in Europe.

Their Bundesliga form has suffered a bit though since Freiburg are only in the eighth spot in the standings in the league and unlikely to secure Europe that way. So, winning the Europa League might be the only way they get to play European football next season as well.

Max Rosenfelder, Patrick Osterhage, and Daniel Kyereh are all on Freiburg's injury list at the moment, but none of them have yet been officially ruled out of this match.

Whispers predicts: Celta Vigo 2-2 Freiburg

Given the first leg result, we can expect to see a very open match and plenty of goals, most likely on both sides. That's why we suggest backing over 2.5 total goals at 10/11 odds and both teams to score at 3/4. If you're as confident as we are in both, then combining the two at 6/5 odds sounds like a good idea.

Also, while Freiburg can go through even with a loss, Celta's recent form suggest they might be in for another rough night, especially with Freiburg being on a good run. So, a double chance on Freiburg to win or draw seems overpriced at 10/11 odds.
