Burnley preview: Battered Luton on Monday

Burnley looked every bit like title challengers when they made the trip to Luton on Monday night.

The visitors dominated the match and could have won by five or six in the end. Josh Brownhill, Wilson Odobert, Dara O'Shea and Vitinho all scored in a 4-1 win at Kenilworth Road.

Scott Parker's side have a clean bill of health and no suspended players ahead of this weekend's clash with Cardiff.

Predicted lineup: Trafford (GK), Roberts, O'Shea, Vitinho, Estève, Pires, Brownhill, Cullen, Foster, Koleosho & Odobert

Cardiff preview: Struggled against the Black Cats

The Bluebirds will have to perform better against Burnley than they did at home to Sunderland if they want to avoid back-to-back defeats in the Championship.

Cardiff conceded a goal in each half as they lost 2-0 to the Black Cats, not the start manager Erol Bulut had hoped for.

Ryotaro Tsunoda, Isaak Davies, Kion Etete and Jamilu Collins all missed the Sunderland game due to injury and aren't expected to recover in time for the trip to Turf Moor.

Predicted lineup: Horvath (GK), Chambers, Goutas, Ng, Ramsey, Siopis, Ralls, O'Dowda, Willock, Robinson & Tanner

Player to watch – Lucas Pires

Burnley might just have unearthed a gem in the form of full-back Lucas Pires.

The Brazilian made the move to England from his homeland this summer after impressing on loan at Cadiz last season and the left-back looked excellent in his first appearance for Burnley against Luton, setting up two of his teams' four goals.

The Brazilian impressed on his Burnley debut

We're excited to see how the 23-year-old performs in front of the Burnley fans where he will likely have even more licence to roam forward and put crosses into the box for his teammates.
