Burnley vs Brentford preview: Goals expected

Key stats

  • Burnley have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 11 matches.
  • Five of the last seven clashes between these sides went below the 4.5-card threshold.
  • There were more than 11 corners in five of Brentford's last seven matches.

Correct score prediction: Burnley 1-2 Brentford

Burnley sit 19th in the Premier League table with 19 points from 27 games, eight points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.

The Clarets drew 1-1 against Chelsea, and won 3-2 against Crystal Palace in their last two league games, and while safety remains a long shot, they will be buoyed by their recent performances.

Brentford, on the other hand, are seventh in the league, with 40 points from 27 matches, but their three-game unbeaten run was ended by Brighton & Hove Albion in the previous round.

Burnley have failed to keep a clean sheet against Brentford in their last six meetings. At least three goals have been scored in five of the last six matches between the two sides; therefore, we predict Brentford to bounce back to winning ways and pick up all three points.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Brentford clear favourites

  • HOME: 10/3 (4.33) – 23.1%
  • DRAW: 14/5 (3.8) – 26.3%
  • AWAY: 3/4 (1.75) – 57.1%

*Odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

Brentford have made a solid start to 2026, picking up four wins, two draws and three defeats in the Premier League. They won their last two league matches away from home, collecting maximum points against Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Based on the above data, Brentford appear strong favourites to win this tie. The Bees have picked up five away wins this season in the Premier League, and are priced at 3/4 (1.75), implying a 57.1% chance of winning.

Both teams have scored in seven of last nine Burnley's matches, and BTTS – Yes at 10/11 (1.91), with a 52.4% implied probability, looks like good value.

Scott Parker’s side have conceded first in six of their last seven games, so Brentford to score first at 4/7 (1.57) looks a solid play.

Burnley will rely heavily on the forward duo of Zian Flemming and Jaidon Anthony, who have both scored six goals this season, but they need to replicate the scoring form on home soil.

Predicted lineup: Dubravka (GK), Walker, Worrall, Esteve, Laurent, Ugochukwu, Hannibal, Humphreys, Edwards, Anthony & Flemming

  • 21/02/26: Chelsea 1-1 Burnley (Premier League)
  • 14/02/26: Burnley 1-2 Mansfield Town (English FA Cup)

  • 07/02/26: Burnley 0-2 West Ham United (Premier League)
  • 02/02/26: Sunderland 3-0 Burnley (Premier League)

Brentford preview: Can they make it three away wins in a row?

Keith Andrews’s side will aim to return to winning ways following their defeat against Brighton in the previous game, and the fixture at Turf Moor presents a good opportunity for them to extend their winning run away from home to three games in the Premier League.

Fabio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo and Joshua Dasilva are ruled out due to long-term knee injuries, while Michael Kayode and Aaron Hickey will be assessed ahead of the game.

Predicted lineup: Kelleher (GK), Collins, Ajer, Van den Berg, Henry, Henderson, Janelt, Ouattara, Jensen, Schade & Thiago

  • 21/02/26: Brentford 0-2 Brighton (Premier League)
  • 16/02/26: Macclesfield 0-1 Brentford (English FA Cup)
