After weeks of mediocre results, Bromley finally secured a morale-boosting victory in League One on Saturday when they held on to see out a 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town on home turf.
John Joshua Mckiernan and Ashley Fletcher hit the target for both sides to end the first half level, before Mickel Miller struck in the 71st minute to sink Huddersfield at Hayes Lane.
This was a much-needed result for Bromley, who had failed to taste victory in five consecutive league games since a 1-0 win over Barnsley on the opening weekend back in August, including three straight defeats against Sheffield Wednesday, Leyton Orient and AFC Wimbledon between August 29 and September 7.
Having clinched the League Two title last season, Andy Woodman’s men are making their debut in the English third tier, earning back-to-back promotions in the English Football League after climbing out of the National League back in 2024.
With a league-high 18 goals conceded already, Bromley’s struggles have come at the back, an area needing improvement sooner rather than later if they are to preserve their league status, as they sit 19th in the League One standings, just two points above the relegation zone.
