Man City will take on Brighton on Saturday, 15 March in a big match in the race for the Premier League's top four.
The hosts come into the match in fifth position, two points behind Chelsea in fourth. A defeat here could see them lose significant ground and face a situation where they may be looking at Europa League football next season.
Brighton, meanwhile, are just a point behind Man City in the league table. A win here would not only lift them above the outgoing champions but also potentially level with Chelsea if other results go their way.

Man City vs Brighton prediction: The Seagulls to take something from the game
Key Stats
- Brighton beat Man City 2-1 earlier in the season.
- Brighton have lost just four of 14 away matches in the Premier League this season.
- Three or more goals have been scored in each of Brighton's last five Premier League matches.
Correct score prediction: Man City 2-2 Brighton
The clash between these two clubs earlier this season was a high-octane affair with plenty of chances at both ends, and a similar match should be expected at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Brighton come into the match looking better than they have all season (and perhaps ever) while Man City will be downbeat after their late defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Pre-game odds and win probability: City go in as odds-on favourites
- HOME: 4/6 (1.67) – 60%
- DRAW: 10/3 (4.33) – 23.1%
- AWAY: 17/5 (4.40) – 22.7%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
The Man City vs Brighton odds are illustrative of how Brighton have closed the gap between the two teams this season as in years gone by, the Citizens would have been significantly shorter than 4/6 for a home match against the Seagulls. City are still the favourites, though, and have been given a 60% chance of winning by Ladbrokes while Brighton have been given a 22.7% chance of victory.

Most recent H2Hs: The Citizens dominate
Brighton's victory against Man City earlier this season was the first time in seven matches that they had managed to defeat the Citizens. City had won five of their previous six matches against Brighton leading up to that fixture, so they will still feel confident of overcoming them on Saturday.

Man City preview: No CL football is unthinkable
Manchester City have been a mainstay in the Champions League ever since they first qualified for the competition in 2011 but there is a real chance that they miss out on Europe's elite competition if they continue as they are. It's been a bumpy season for Pep Guardiola, arguably the worst of his managerial career, but finishing outside the top four would be a tough pill to swallow.

Player to watch: Kaoru Mitoma

Eyebrows were raised when Brighton rejected a £75m bid for Kaoru Mitoma in the January transfer window but in reality, they should be commended for prioritising on-field success over profits. Mitoma has been excellent since the transfer window shut and he is now on seven league goals for the season. One more and it will be his best return since becoming a Brighton player.
