Whisper+ analysis

Authenticity (4/5): Arsenal interested in Rodrygo

Brighton & Hove Albion‘s much-praised scouting network and recruitment strategy is in full swing ahead of the summer. Having already signed Stefanos Tzimas, Yun Do-young, and Tommy Watson, the Seagulls are now pursuing a deal for Olympiacos striker Charalampos Kostoulas.

The story comes The Athletic, who are one of the most reliable outlets in England.

Value (3/5): Olympiacos playing hardball

It is claimed that the Premier League side have offered a fee of around £30million plus Abdallah Sima for the teenager. A huge commitment for a 17-year-old but he is so highly-rated at Olympiacos that they are expected to turn down the bid. Further, they would also want a sell-on included in any possible deal.

Suitability (3.5/5): Exciting prospect

Kostoulas is relatively inexperienced, but he is already making defenders in Super League Greece sweat with his sharp off-the-ball movement and clinical finishing. He has notched 12 goals in all competitions for the Legend.

Upgrade? (3.5/5): One for the future

Brighton only landed Kostoulas's fellow countryman Stefanos Tzimas from FC Nurnberg earlier this season. The 19-year-old will join their first team next season. Further, Fabian Hurzeler already has several exciting attackers, including Joao Pedro, at his disposal.

As such, it appears Kostoulas is being chased with a view to lock him down for the future before other top clubs.

Logic (3/5): Best to wait

Brighton have an impressive record when it comes to identifying and developing prospects from relatively weaker leagues. However, they appear pretty strong up front at senior level. Accordingly, Kostoulas should join a club where there's a more clear pathway to first team football.

Whisper+ verdict: 17/25

Brighton's initial bid suggests they are convinced Kostoulas is an incredible talent, meaning it is too early to rule out an improved offer.
