Whisper+ analysis

Authenticity (4.5/5): Best in the business

Bournemouth are the latest club to join the queue for Koni De Winter's signature on the back of a promising season from the Genoa sensation in Serie A. Inter Milan are also monitoring the Belgian's situation.

That is according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who is considered among the best in the business, especially when it comes to Serie A-related transfer updates.

Value (4/5): Reasonable price tag

As per multiple reports in Italy, Genoa value the 23-year-old star at around £25million, having only signed him permanently last summer from Juventus. Considering the competition for his signature and his much-talked-about potential, the Serie A outfit's demands appear reasonable.

Suitability (4/5): Aggressive central defender

Known for his dominance in ground and aerial duels, De Winter's approach while defending is very aggressive, and he seems to relish the opportunity to defend in one-v-one situations. At the same time, the Belgian is composed with the ball at his feet and cold against the intense press.

Upgrade? (3.5/5): Potential Zabarnyi replacement

Illia Zabarnyi is nearing a move to Paris Saint-Germain, and Romano suggests Bournemouth view De Winter as an option to possibly replace the Ukrainian.

When it comes to physicality, the Ligurian club's defender has the calibre to comfortably fill Zabarnyi's void. However, he still needs to work on his tactical intelligence to be as adaptable as Bournemouth's current star.

Logic (3/5): Plenty of option

The lure of the Premier League is usually enough to entice young players. However, the ex-Juventus prodigy is not short of options, with Inter also interested in securing his services.

Having said that, the Nerazzurri have several top defenders at San Siro, meaning they are unlikely to be able to guarantee a prominent role to De Winter. The Cherries, however, could do that should they lose Zabarnyi.

Whisper+ verdict: 19/25

Genoa's asking price is unlikely to prove a stumbling block. As such, Bournemouth's bid could hinge on the player's willingness to move.
