Backing Watford to win
Blackburn arrive in this game having shown hugely inconsistent form of late with two wins and three defeats in their last five games and with no two results falling in sequence; their record reads LWLWL but we think that ends here with another defeat. Watford haven't exactly been pulling up trees and, actually, their form over the last five games has been worse than Blackburn's with the Hornets recording just one win and two draws in that period. What swings this game massively in their favour is the head to head record; they've won each of the last three meetings and haven't lost to Rovers since 2013.
Going over 2.5 goals
Our next tip for this game sees us backing the total goals to go over 2.5. Blackburn's form directly supports this with three of their past five matches going over the 2.5 threshold and whilst Watford's recent form is less convincing – they've had just two of five go over the threshold of 2.5 – both of those ‘over' games have come inside their last three fixtures. On top of that, the head to head history is, once again, another nice indicator of what might await with four of the last five – and each of the last two – meetings having seen at least three goals.

A clash of potential playoff rivals
Both of these sides have lacked consistency of late but they won't be too alarmed with Watford sat sixth in the table and Blackburn just one place further back. In fact they'll be thinking of what could happen should they string wins together and, more importantly, how valuable against a league rival could be!
Blackburn have done well to come into mid-September in and around the playoff mix given how unsettling the transfer window was for them. With Ben Brereton Diaz still in the build and Sam Barnes and Scott Wharton their only absentees here, they should be confident.
Blackburn Predicted lineup – Kaminski, Travis, Carter, Hyam, Pickering, Wharton, Morton, Hedges, Dack, Diaz, Hirst
Watford haven't found the sort of consistency that will put them in a title race yet, which would have been their ambition at the start of the season but they can at least point to the treatment room as an excuse. Tom Cleverley, Jeremy Ngakia and Tom Dele-Bashiru are amongst those missing.
Watford Predicted lineup – Bachmann, Cathcart, Kabasele, Hause, Kamara, Kayembe, Asprilla, Choudhury, Sema, Bayo, Pedro
