- Birmingham are on a run of three consecutive home wins against West Brom in the Championship and are unbeaten in four of their last five meetings at St Andrew's.

Birmingham preview: A change in fortunes in 2026
Birmingham maintained their fine run of results in the new year last Saturday when they secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leicester City on home turf.
After Abdul Fatawu Issahaku netted in the 21st minute to cancel out Ibrahim Osman’s third-minute opener and draw Leicester level heading into half time, Jay Stansfield struck in the 67th minute to hand the hosts all three points.
With that result, Birmingham have now gone seven straight games without defeat in all competitions, picking up five wins and two draws, having failed to win the seven matches between December 6 and January 1.
This fine run of results has put Chris Davies’s men in contention for a playoff spot, as they now sit 10th in the Championship table, level on 45 points with ninth-placed Derby County and two points behind sixth-placed Wrexham in the final playoff spot.
Birmingham will be backing themselves to keep the ball rolling on Tuesday as they head into the game unbeaten in 10 consecutive home games, picking up six wins and four draws since October’s 3-2 defeat against Hull City.
Predicted lineup: Beadle (GK); Iwata, Klarer, Neumann, Wagner; Paik, Solis; Vicente, Stansfield, Osman; Ducksch
Birmingham’s last five matches:
- Birmingham 2-1 Leicester
- Oxford 0-2 Birmingham
- Birmingham 1-1 Stoke
- Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Birmingham
- Swansea 1-1 Birmingham
West Brom preview: Out to secure first away win since October 1
West Brom continue to struggle for results at the wrong end of the table as they were held to a goalless draw by Stoke City at the Hawthorns on Saturday.
The Baggies have now gone seven consecutive matches without a win in the league, losing five and claiming two draws since scraping a 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers in their final outing of 2025 on December 29.
West Brom have picked up 33 points from their 31 Championship matches so far to sit 20th in the league standings, level on points with 19th-placed Portsmouth and just one point above the relegation zone.
While Eric Ramsay’s men will be looking to stop the rot on Tuesday, results on the road offer little optimism, with West Brom failing to win their last 12 away matches, losing 11 and claiming one draw since beating Norwich 1-0 on October 1.
Predicted lineup: O'Leary (GK); Gilchrist, Phillips, Taylor, Wallace; Mowatt, Molumby, Styles; Jimoh-Aloba, Price, Dike
West Brom’s last five matches:
- West Brom 0-0 Stoke
- Portsmouth 3-0 West Brom
- Derby 1-1 West Brom
- West Brom 0-5 Norwich
- West Brom 2-3 Middlesbrough
Player to watch — Jay Stansfield

Stansfield snapped a run of 13 consecutive games without a goal with his winner against Leicester City last time out and the English forward will be one to look out for on Tuesday.
Following a standout performance in the 2024-25 campaign, where he netted 19 goals to help Birmingham secure promotion from the League One, the 23-year-old boasts 14 goal involvements in 29 Championship appearances this term.
Stansfield, who is now one goal shy of reaching double digits for the Blues, should retain his role in the attacking quartet, alongside Osman, Carlos Vicente and German striker Marvin Ducksch.
