Benfica vs Farense team news

Benfica

Benfica only managed to pick up a point from their last game away at Moreirense. In a game that won't live long in the memory, both sides failed to carve out a single goal during the ninety minutes. That result means that Benfica sit two points behind their local rivals Sporting Lisbon in the race for the Primeira Liga title.

Predicted Lineup: Trubin (GK), Otamendi, Morato, Silva, Di María, Mário, Aursnes, Rafa, Florentino, Neves & Tengstedt

Farense

Farense fell behind early on at home to Vitoria Guimaraes and trailed at the break, but a fifty-seventh-minute penalty from Bruno Durate levelled the sides. Fabrício Isidoro came off the bench in the first half after Mattheus Oliveira had picked up an injury but the Brazilian ended up leaving the game shortly after the hour mark when he was shown two yellow cards and given his marching orders by the referee. Victoria Guimaraes used their one-man advantage well, scoring the winning goal late on through Jota Silva.

Predicted Lineup: Velho (GK), Muscat, Silva, Talocha, Pastor, Gonçalves, Barbosa, Falcão, Matias, Duarte & Belloumi

Player to Watch: Rafa

Benfica midfielder Rafa has more assists this season than any of his teammates, and we're backing the 30-year-old to lead his club to another victory on Friday.

Rafa has four assists so far this season and has also chipped in with three goals, so the Farense defence have to be wary of the former Braga man.

Rafa is in decent form in front of goal having found the back of the net in three of his last ten appearances for Benfica in all competitions.
