Benfica will aim to secure a substantial first-leg advantage when they host Aarhus at Estadio da Luz on Thursday with a place in the Europa League main stage at stake.
The Eagles have responded strongly to setbacks during Marco Silva's opening weeks in charge, while Aarhus are competing in this tie after their Champions League campaign ended in a heavy defeat to Sabah Baku.
Benfica's confidence has also been boosted by Monday's 7-0 victory at Casa Pia, whereas Aarhus suffered a 2-1 loss against Viborg in their most recent competitive outing.

Benfica finished third in the 2025-26 Primeira Liga season, which saw them settle for a Europa League qualifying spot, but they have been impressive in their preliminaries for Europe's second-tier competition under Marco Silva.
Appointed in June to replace Jose Mourinho, Silva has overseen a strong response to an opening 2-1 defeat at St Gallen in the second qualifying round, with Benfica winning the return leg 5-0 to advance 6-2 on aggregate.
The Eagles maintained that momentum in the third qualifying round by thrashing Hearts 6-1 in the first leg before a 1-1 draw in Scotland completed a 7-2 aggregate victory and secured their place in the playoff.
Benfica then returned to domestic action with a 7-0 victory over Casa Pia on Monday, responding emphatically to the 2-2 draw with newly promoted Academico de Viseu that had interrupted their start to the Primeira Liga campaign.
Pavlidis scored a hat-trick against Casa Pia, while Rafa Silva has scored in five of his last seven starts and Prestianni has found the net in three of his last four appearances.
Aarhus, meanwhile, are entering the Europa League playoff after their Champions League campaign ended in the third qualifying round, despite winning the Danish top flight last season for the sixth time and ending a 40-year wait for another league title.
The Danish champions initially showed their ability to recover from a difficult position in the second qualifying round of the Champions League, overturning a three-goal first-leg deficit against Lech Poznan before advancing on penalties.
Their third qualifying-round tie with Sabah Baku proved more damaging, as Aarhus followed a 2-1 home victory in the first leg with a 4-0 defeat in Azerbaijan to drop into the Europa League.
Poulsen's side have also failed to win any of their opening three Superliga matches this season, with Friday's 2-1 defeat at Viborg leaving them needing an immediate improvement in form.
Aarhus are now seeking to reach the main stage of European competition for the first time since their 1997-98 UEFA Cup campaign, although they will have to do so without several players as Frederik Tingager, Kevin Yakob and Nicolai Poulsen are all expected to miss out.

Whispers predicts: Benfica 4-0 Aarhus
Benfica are heavy favourites based on their dominance in the fixture at home and the contrast between the two sides' recent European fortunes, making the 1/16 (1.16) home win a reasonable option despite the limited return.
A Benfica win & over 3.5 goals at 21/20 (2.05) provides a more lucrative alternative, with the hosts having already produced 5-0 and 6-1 victories at home in this Europa League campaign before Monday's 7-0 success at Casa Pia.
Benfica to score in both halves at 8/13 (1.61) is also appealing, particularly given how consistently Silva's side have maintained their attacking output across recent matches.
Vangelis Pavlidis to score anytime at 11/25 (1.44) looks worth backing after his three-goal performance against Casa Pia continued a prolific spell for the Benfica striker.
A 4-0 correct score at 17/2 (9.50) completes the selections as an attractive outsider, with Benfica capable of putting the tie firmly in their favour before the second leg.
