Slovakia vs Belarus: Our top betting tips

Belarus already know they've got a relegation playoff coming their way. Can they at least sign off their regular games with a victory in Slovakia? Find out with our Slovakia vs Belarus match preview with free tips, predictions and odds mentioned along the way.

Slovakia to win

We begin our tips for this match by backing Slovakia to win. The home side haven't been in great form of late and, as a result, sit in third place in this group but even with that being noted, they should be comfortable victors here. They have won a couple of games recently with two wins in their last five. Whilst not amazing, it's considerably better than the form that Belarus can offer up across their past five outings which reads as two draws and three defeats. Slovakia beat Belarus when the sides last met too and, considering Belarus are already cooked in this group, they are unlikely to be putting bodies on the line in the same way as they might have done previously; that should suit the hosts.

A low scoring match

Our next bet for this match is that it will be a low scoring one. Slovakia have gone under the 2.5 threshold in three of their last five games with just nine goals seen in that period; that's an average of 1.8 per match. Belarus meanwhile have only gone over 2.5 goals in one of their past five with an average of just 1.6 goals per match. The last two head to head games have also come in south of the 2.5 mark. With all that noted, a high scoring game feels unlikely.

Belarus to end campaign with another defeat

The Nations League is often dubbed as being ‘glorified friendlies' and that really is the case here as Slovakia and Belarus do battle knowing very well the result will have zero impact on either of them. Kazakhstan have won the group to earn promotion whilst Belarus are guaranteed to finish bottom. With that in mind, there is no reason for these sides not to let loose and produce an open game of football.

Slovakia arrive here without much concerns around their squad and whilst this is an opportunity to experiment we believe they'll go strong with the ambition of chalking up a morale boosting win.

Slovakia Predicted lineup – Rodak, Vallo, Satka, Skriniar, Hancko, Bero, Lobotka, Benes, Jirka, Bozenik, Regali

Belarus are already relegated but with a relegation playoff still to play they'll be keen to take some positive momentum forwards. Expect a strong line up.

Belarus Predicted lineup – Khatkevich, Polyakov, Shvetsov, Yudenkov, Pechenin, Ebong, Yablonskiy, Klimovich, Savitskiy, Shauchenka, Bogomolskiy
