This will be the first time since 2020 that Bayern Munich and Chelsea have played against each other. Back then, the two clubs played each other either side of the first Coronavirus pandemic, with Bayern winning 3-0 at Stamford Bridge before killing the tie six months later in a behind-closed-doors match at the Allianz Arena.

Chelsea preview: Palmer to return to the starting XI
Cole Palmer was excellent off the bench at the weekend, and the Chelsea talisman will start on Wednesday night. Enzo Maresca still has his fair share of injuries, though, with Estevao, Liam Delap, Romeo Lavia, Dario Essugo and Benoit Badiashile all ruled out of this one.
