It's been a mixed couple of weeks for Bayern Munich away from the pitch, with Vincent Kompany's health issues dominating the headlines until Harry Kane won the Ballon d'Or on Monday.

While Kompany has now been discharged from hospital, he will not take charge of the team on Saturday, with assistant manager Aaron Danks set to lead the team for the foreseeable future.

The Bayern squad should be doubly determined to get the three points on Saturday for their manager, but there is no doubt that their preparation for this fixture will have been disrupted.

Despite that, they have plenty of recent form to fall back on. Bayern have won their last three domestic matches by an aggregate score of 15-3, illustrating just how devastating they can be in attacking areas.

On Saturday, Danks will be unable to call upon Luis Diaz, with the Colombian winger ruled out until November.

As for Dortmund, they will view Kompany's absence and the distraction of the Ballon d'Or as a potential window of opportunity, as they look to end their five-game winless streak against Bayern.

Manager Niko Kovac will be delighted with how his team has started the season, particularly from a defensive point of view, as they have conceded just four goals in seven league games so far.

Like Bayern, they have yet to taste defeat in the Bundesliga, and if that record remains on Sunday, they will consider it a job well done at the Allianz Arena.

Kovac's only absentees for the match are Emre Can and Giannis Konstantelias, both of whom are out with long-term injuries.
