Barracas

Barracas drew 0-0 away vs Huracan last weekend. It was a solid defensive showing but not a very convincing attacking one. Barracas had only 2 shots on target in this match.

The form has been declining lately and Barracas won only 1 of their last 6 league games (D2 L3). That said most of those matches were on the road and at Barracas remain a solid side with 3 wins in the last 5 (D1 L1).

The team remains badly crippled too with 6 players, most of which regular starters when available, are set to be absent. Insua is suspended, while 5 others are in the treatment room.

Predicted Lineup:

Desabato (GK), Mater, Caparararo, Alverez, Diaz, Tolosa, Tapia, Arce, Rosane, Sepulveda & Colitto

Rosario

Rosario impressed yet again last weekend when deservedly beating Argentinos Juniors 3-1 at home. It was the fast start and 2 goals scored inside the opening 18 minutes that decided this match very early.

Rosario are now unbeaten in 7 consecutive games (W5 D2). However, they remain very passive on the road and are without an away league win since March – D7 L6.

Influential playmaker Giaccone and two important strikers (Lovera and Montoya) are missing this game due to injuries.

Predicted Lineup:

Broun (GK), Quintana, Martinez, Komar, Malcorra, Campaz, Rodriguez, O’Connor, Ortiz, Martinez Dupuy & Cervera

Player to Watch: Ariel Cervera

Rosario’s attacking midfielder Ariel Cervera has been used as a false nine in recent weeks due to many injuries to the main strikers. Cervera scored last weekend and he now has scored in 2 of the last 6 matches.

The 21-year-old is usually not known for his scoring but in this new role as the main man up front, he seems to be thriving right now so he is a player worth keeping an eye on.
