Porto are in action for the first time since clinching the Portuguese Primeira Liga title when they journey to the Estadio do CD das Aves to face AVS on Sunday.
While the home side could pick up back-to-back victories for the first time this season, they are guaranteed to finish rock-bottom in the table and will be looking to go down with their heads held high.

AVS have pieced together a commendable run of form down the final stretch of the season, but their resurgence arrived too late to alter their fate, with relegation already sealed for the Vila das Aves outfit.
Joao Henriques’s men made it four straight matches without defeat last Saturday when they fought back from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Nacional at the Estadio da Madeira.
Felipe Soares opened the scoring in the fourth minute to put Nacional on course for a third consecutive victory, but Pedro Lima and Guilherme Neiva hit back for the visitors to turn things around.
Prior to that, AVS played out three consecutive stalemates against Vitoria de Guimaraes, Rio Ave and Sporting Lisbon, and were without a win in nine straight matches since thrashing Estoril Praia 3-0 back in February.
Rooted to the bottom of the Primeira Liga standings with just 17 points from 32 matches, AVS’s brief two-year spell in the top flight has now mathematically officially come to an end as they sit nine points off the relegation playoff spot with just two games to go.
In stark contrast, high-flying Porto sealed their 31st league title last Saturday when they held on to see out a 1-0 victory over Alverca at the Estadio do Dragao.
With second-placed Benfica dropping two points in a 2-2 draw against Famalicao, Jan Bednarek’s 40th-minute strike was enough to help the Dragoes complete the double against Alverca and clinch the title with two games to spare.
With 27 wins and four draws, it has been a stellar campaign under 37-year-old head coach Francesco Farioli, who has guided Porto to their first league crown since the 2021-22 season in his first year at the helm of affairs.
Porto head into the weekend on a run of four consecutive Primeira Liga victories and are unbeaten in their last 12 league matches, claiming nine wins and three draws since a 2-1 defeat against Casa Pia on February 2.
The Dragoes will be backing themselves to keep the momentum at the Estadio do CD das Aves against an opposing side who have lost each of their last three meetings, conceding nine goals and failing to find the back of the net across the three games.

Whispers predicts: AVS 0-2 Porto
At 1.19, Porto are heavily backed to come out on top this weekend, and with the thrill from clinching the title still lingering in the air, we are siding with the bookmakers.
The Dragoes are yet to concede after three games against AVS, and with nine goals scored in that time, Porto to win + BTTS – No at 1.90 is our first pick of the game.
We also see under 10.5 corners at 2.00, which has come through in eight of Porto’s last nine games, and with the last two H2H ending in a 2-0 Porto victory, a 2-0 correct score at 6.50 is our outside pick.
> Over 10.5 corners – No at 2.00 | Likelihood: Possible
> Porto to win + BTTS – No at 1.90 | Likelihood: Possible
> Goal Range (2-4 goals) – Yes at 1.53 | Likelihood: Possible
