Auxerre preview: Lost two of opening three

Auxerre got the season off to a winning start at home against Nice thanks to a dramatic stoppage-time effort from Lasso Coulibaly.

However, defeats away at Nantes and Le Harve have followed, leaving the 1995/96 Ligue 1 champions sitting 13th in the table.

Dutch full-back Ki-Jana Hoever was sent off in Auxerre's last game so won't feature against Monaco, while Coulibaly, Ange Loïc N’Gatta, Gideon Mensah and Ousoumane Camara are all currently injured.

Predicted lineup: Leon (GK), Jubal, Osho, Diomande, Joly, Raveloson, Owusu, Traore, Perrin, Bair & Sinayoko

Monaco preview: Unbeaten in Ligue 1

Adi Hutter's side have started the season very positively and are yet to taste defeat in any of their opening three fixtures.

Les Rouge et Blanc opened with a 1-0 home win against Saint-Etienne and followed that up with an impressive 2-0 win at Lyon but Lens held Monaco to a 1-1 draw last time out, ruining their 100% to the campaign.

The only two injury concerns for Saturday's guests so far are midfielder Edan Diop and goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki, both of whom are expected to be out until late September.

Predicted lineup: Kohn (GK), Teze, Singo, Ouattara, Mawissa, Minamino, Zakaria, Akliouche, Magassa, Ben Seghir & Balogun

Player to watch: Breel Embolo

Breel Embolo made the move to Monaco from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach in 2022 and scored 14 times in 42 appearances across all competitions.

However, a serious injury limited the Swiss international to just five Ligue 1 games of the 2023/24 campaign, producing one goal, and as a result of that extended period out, Embolo has lost his place in the starting lineup.

Monaco's Swiss striker is looking for his first goal of the season

Embolo put in some decent performances for Switzerland at Euro 2024 and featured in both of his country's recent Nations League games, so we're excited to see the striker get back amongst the goals for Monaco soon.
