With just eight matchdays remaining, Auxerre are in the race against time to secure their top-flight safety. Christophe Pelissier’s outfit have failed to win each of their last four games, and are winless in nine of their last 10 outings.

They succumbed to a 1-0 away defeat to Marseille last time out, with Amine Gouiri scoring the match-winning strike at Stade Velodrome.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Auxerre have conceded the same number of goals as Brest this campaign (36).

One would think returning to play on home turf would increase morale, but Auxerre have failed to score in each of their last four home fixtures for the first time in their history.

Oussame El Azzouzi is still on the injury list for Auxerre, along with Lasso Coulibaly and Nathan Buayi-Kiala.

Brest also have a few players sidelined, with Ludovic Ajorque and Brendan Chardonnet both out due to yellow card suspensions. Meanwhile, Mama Balde and Bradley Locko are unfit.

The Pirates enter this round following a first defeat in seven matches, with Monaco dealing a 2-0 defeat to them at Stade Louis II.

Their recent six-match unbeaten run has propelled them into 10th position. A top six spot is not entirely out of question for Brest.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Fourteen of Brest's 26 games have seen under 2.5 goals.

Their away form has been poor with only win on the road in six trips. However, aside from their loss to Monaco, Brest are unbeaten in three of their four other latest away trips.

Eric Roy will be confident of his side’s quality to usurp Auxerre by extending their winless home run to seven games in all tournaments.

Whispers Predicts: Auxerre 0-2 Brest

Auxerre are the third-poorest team away from home this season, with only seven points out of a possible 39. They have scored a league-low 10 home goals. BTTS – No at 6/5 is worth backing in this matchup.

A joint-league high 14 of Auxerre’s games stood level at half-time this term (HT: W3, L9). A double chance bet - Brest to win or draw at half-time at 19/10 makes sense.

In the win market, Brest at 9/4 offers great value to punters. They’ve lost only one of their last nine H2Hs.
