Atletico Madrid returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory at Osasuna on Tuesday night. Diego Simeone's troops have now won three of their last four league matches.

With only two games remaining, the hosts have already secured a top-four spot and will set their sights on finishing in the top three. They are three points behind third-placed Villarreal.

The league run-in has come in severe fashion for Atleti in terms of injuries, with the Madrid outfit expected to miss up to eight players on Sunday, including Johnny Cardoso, Julian Alvarez, and Jose Maria Gimenez, who all have ankle injuries.

Giuliano Simeone, Nahuel Molina, Nico Gonzalez, and Pablo Barrios are nursing thigh injuries. Rodrigo Mendoza is out with muscular problems, while Marcos Llorente is suspended for this clash after being sent off against Osasuna.

On the other hand, Girona's woes continued with a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad on Thursday. The visitors are now without a win in six consecutive matches and have not won an away game since mid-January.

Michel's troops are only one point above the relegation zone, and with only two matches left to play, a victory here would seriously boost their chances of survival.

However, not only have Girona lost four consecutive meetings between these sides, but they also did not score a single goal in the last three H2Hs.

The Catalan side have Juan Carlos unavailable for this trip to the capital, as the goalkeeper is ruled out for the remainder of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

Vladyslav Vanat and Marc-Andre ter Stegen are sidelined with hamstring injuries, while long-term absentee Donny van de Beek (ACL) is close to full recovery after seven months of rehabilitation.
