Arsenal have the chance to move to the top of the Premier League table when they welcome West Ham to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Indeed, the Gunners are just two points behind current leaders Liverpool after cutting the gap down from five, with the Reds set to travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the evening kick-off.
Meanwhile, new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo will take charge of just his second West Ham game after holding Everton to a 1-1 draw at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday Night Football. The Hammers are second-from-bottom in the table at the time of writing, but have surprisingly won at the Emirates on each of their last two visits.

Arsenal vs West Ham prediction: Gunners to fire themselves into top spot?
Key stats
- Arsenal are unbeaten on home soil so far this season, winning three of four matches in all competitions.
- West Ham have won just once all season, and have lost five times across all competitions.
- Arsenal have scored a total of 11 goals in the previous three H2Hs.
Correct score prediction: Arsenal 3-0 West Ham
Despite West Ham's two wins on their previous two visits to the Emirates, Arsenal should be heavy favourites to break that streak here. The Gunners recorded comfortable home victories against both Leeds and Nottingham Forest earlier this season, both of whom are currently above the Hammers in the table, and so we do not see how this clash will be any different.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Arsenal almighty favourites with bookmakers
- HOME: 1/5 (1.20) – 83.3%
- DRAW: 11/2 (6.50) – 15.4%
- AWAY: 12/1 (13.00) – 7.7%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
As shown by the implied probabilities, Arsenal are unsurprisingly the big favourites with bookmakers to claim all three points on home soil. A draw can be backed at 15.4%, and a third West Ham victory in a row at the Emirates at exactly half that (7.7%).

Most recent H2Hs: West Ham a bogey team
As mentioned before, West Ham have beaten Arsenal on their previous two trips to the Emirates. In fact, the Hammers have won three of the last five H2Hs in total in all competitions, so the Gunners will be wary that they cannot be complacent this time around.

Arsenal preview: Gabriel fit enough to start?
Mikel Arteta played down Gabriel Magalhaes' injury against Olympiacos in midweek, suggesting that the centre-back should be fit for the weekend. Piero Hincapie, Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are still carrying longer-term injuries though.

Last five results:
- Arsenal 2-0 Olympiacos
- Newcastle 1-2 Arsenal
- Port Vale 0-2 Arsenal

- Athletic Club 0-2 Arsenal
West Ham preview: Soucek still suspended
A scorer at the Emirates in recent times, Tomas Soucek serves the final game of a three-match suspension for West Ham. Aaron Wan-Bissaka remains a doubt with a stomach problem.
Predicted lineup: Areola (GK); Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf; Magassa, Paqueta, Fernandes; Bowen, Fullkrug & Summerville
Last five results:
- Everton 1-1 West Ham
- West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace
- West Ham 0-3 Tottenham

Player to watch: Martin Odegaard
Martin Odegaard is showing signs of getting back to his best in an Arsenal shirt. After assisting Gabriel's winner from the corner against Newcastle, he set up Bukayo Saka's goal against Olympiacos, and put in a man-of-the-match performance.
